What does a mirror look at? (Franf Herbert, Dune)

A different version of the myth tells us that when he recognised the perfection of his own reflection, Narcissus was unable to sabotage it and so died of thirst.

Learning to drink without drowning. This is the way to remove the curse cast by Nemesis, goddess of vengeance, on Narcissus. Each one of my reflectors was a clear water source for me, but in order to drink the water I had to accept the challenge of reflecting my reflections, speaking with their voices and sharing the credit on this work with them and with you. Through my reflected~reflectors I learn to accept different pieces of myself; I try to put together the puzzle of the plural-self, to create its soundtrack.
