Art in its many manifestations leads a long affair with mirrors. Composers explore the mirror structure in many different manners: short musical phrases built in complete symmetry ~ on the micro level, and on the macro ~ an entire piece shaped like a mirror.

My concern with this strange reflective structure, that does not reveal itself readily as one might expect, is accompanied by a desire to show more faces of the mirror, as if it held within itself much more than a form. It feels like the mirror pushes us deeper than the mere self-appearance it reflects; It forces us to self-mirroring, an internal-circular observation. It is a naked protocol of the ßeing that it reflects, yourself.

In the “Laws of Reflection”, the mirror-protocol is also presented in the arias, using a music-text palindrome machine;  The text is inherent to the music; the music is inherent to the text. These text-sound sentences are all constructed as palindrome sentences, mirror sentences that you can read from both directions (right to left/ left to right) without changing the result.

I invite you to write in real-time a palindromic poem for the second aria of “Laws of Reflection”. As you use the machine called “Palindromic Modus”, each key on your computer keyboard connects to a sound sample. When you type a palindromic text, the system converts it to palindromic musical phrase. The system also presents a few  suggestions that you may or may not use.  Please share your poem with me on “Reflect On Me”.
